America’s Original Grand Hotel™ on Mackinac Island, MI has been an icon of summer resorts since 1887. This National Historic Landmark and Historic Hotels of America Best Historic Resort is located on Mackinac Island, where cars are not allowed, and a horse-drawn carriage is the preferred mode of transportation. Listed as a U.S. National Historic Landmark in 1989, Grand Hotel has hosted guests from across the world for more than a century.   • Visit Arch Rock and gain stunning views of Lake Huron and the nearby Bois Blanc Island. Then travel over to Sunset Rock on the other side of Mackinac Island to gaze upon the majestic of the historic Straits of Mackinac. Other scenic spots scattered include Eagle Point Cave, Friendship’s Altar, Cave of the Woods, and Soldier’s Garden.
