The original interior design firm was A.E. Wardman and Company. After its opening in 1926, the luxurious establishment was said to impress those who desired “the best in good living.”

Some of the guestroom interiors of the hotel were furnished by the DeMoll furniture store at 12th and G streets N.W., just six blocks away.
