Capturing the essence of California cuisine with the depth of flavor and heartiness of Western ranch cooking, Alisal Ranch puts forth delectable selections ranging from casual meals by the pool or on the golf course, to elevated dining in the Ranch Room. The Alisal has a reverence for the region’s bounty and a commitment to timeless food made from seasonal, locally sourced ingredients at their peak. Besides daily dining, Alisal Ranch hosts twice-yearly BBQ Bootcamps and California Ranch Cookouts with guest chefs.

The Ranch Room and Creekside

The Ranch Room is open for both breakfast and dinner.
Order from an extensive breakfast menu, or choose from the buffet featuring a seasonal fresh fruit, an assortment of fresh-baked pastries, eggs, bacon, sausages from Solvang, and more local, seasonal selections. Each evening dinner here features custom creations. The menu changes daily to showcase the freshest ingredients from local farms and ranches.

Since the opening of the Ranch in 1946, it has been custom to “dress up” for dinner on the Ranch. This tradition means that gentlemen 16 years and older wear a collared shirt and sport coat to dinner and ladies dress accordingly. If guests choose to wear jeans, The Alisal asks that they be “dinner dressy” (not frayed and without holes). Keeping the “country-formal” dinner tradition is part of the fun.

The Chuckwagon Grill & Waggin’ Tongue Bar

Lunch is served daily at the Chuckwagon Grill, and guests can dine poolside on the sunny patio. Next door the Waggin’ Tongue Bar features local wines by the glass or bottle, local beers on tap, and a full selection of spirits. The Chuckwagon Grill is located adjacent to the pool and next to the Cottonwood Room.

The Oak Room

The Oak Room is a favorite meeting spot offering a full bar, local beers on tap, and wines from the local AVAs and beyond. The Oak Room has a selection of appetizers available as well, and coffee drinks are available here, too each morning. Adults only after 9 p.m.

The Grill at Alisal River Course

Located at the River Golf Course, the River Grill is open for breakfast and lunch, and for brunch on Saturday and Sunday. The River Grill offers both indoor and outdoor dining.

The Ranch Course Grill & Golf Lounge

Located at the Ranch Golf Course (just north of the Ranch), the Ranch Grill is open for Breakfast and Lunch. The Ranch Grill features both indoor and outdoor seating.

Ginger Molasses Cookies

The scent of pine, sweets and savory delights wafted through Alisal Ranch this past week as celebrated interior designer and author, Nathan Turner, hosted his California Country Holiday workshop recently. Showcasing his favorite recipes for entertaining, Turner and our Director of Culinary Operations, Chef Anthony Endy, hosted a holiday feast including a decadent display of desserts and tasty appetizers fit for any holiday fête. Luckily, we were able to snag a few recipes from the event along with some of Turner’s additional holiday favorites.
