The Rockies

The Rocky Mountains are an iconic mountain range that extends for several thousand miles through the western half of the country. Situated in the middle of the region, Rocky Mountain National Park features countless attractions to enjoy, including the Trail Ridge Road, Moraine Park, and Sombrero Ranch. But other national parks proliferate throughout the Rockies too, such as Pike National Forest, Yellowstone National Park, and Glacier National Park. The Rocky Mountains also contain a treasure trove of historic sites that exemplify the story of the American West. Places like Chautauqua Park, Bent’s Old Fort National Historic Site, and the Durango & Silverton Narrow Gauge Railroad all embody the heritage of this extraordinary location.
