Poconos

Situated between New York City and Philadelphia, the Pocono Mountains have attracted tons of visitors due to its resplendent beauty and tranquil environment. The region encompasses the entire Delaware State Forest, which features six designated natural areas, seven state parks, and 17 state game lands. Among the greatest of these wildlife destinations are Big Pocono State Park, Beltzville State Park, Hickory Run State Park, and the Delaware Water Gap National Recreational Area. Around 150 lakes also populate the region, including the impressive Lake Wallenpaupack. Several rustic historic sites inhabit the Poconos as well, such as the Grey Towers National Historic Site, the Asa Packer Mansion, and the Steamtown National Historic Site.
