Portugal is undeniably magical, with wine-drenched Spain to the east and the sprawling Atlantic Ocean to the west. One of Europe’s earliest nations and the oldest country on the Iberian Peninsula, Portugal overflows with historical sites and culture. In the coastal capital of Lisbon, Belém Tower rises above the Tagus River, while nearby Jeronimos Monastery stands as a monument to the power of Portugal during the Age of Exploration. Farther south, the cultural landscape of Sintra is renowned for both its natural beauty and European Romantic architecture. Fortunately, with over 300 days of sunshine annually, there is plenty of time to explore it all.
